Abstract
The book,“The Adventures of Tom Sawyer”, is usually regarded as a classic book written for boys about their particular horrors and joys. It and its sequence are proved to be milestone works in American Literature, the vivid description of the characters’ personality, especially children’ naivete and curiosity, can arouse young readers’ interests and hold their hearts permanently. It has moved millions of people of different ages of all over the world. In terms of children’ personalities, This book is noted for its unpretentious, colloquial presentation of children’ naïve and curious nature, its wide-ranging humor and their universally shared dream of perfect innocence and freedom. In this paper, The main concentration is on the ways and the aspects in which the writer reveals the character’s nature and personality of naivete and curiosity and how it wins the admiration of the young people and the old ones. The presentation in this book is the interior world of spirit and behavior. It is mainly composed of four parts. The main discussion is about children’s naïve and innocent nature and curious behavior . Some examples are given to illustrate the children’s nature of naivete and innocence; such as, playing truant, imagination, love affairs and curious actions, etc. In the analysis of children’s curious behavior, The daily chores are quoted here to present the vivid analysis. So in the following several parts, it deals with the unique ways to provide two aspects of children’ nature occruing in the novel, which could seize readers’ hearts easily and permanently.
